After last week's Tip I received a ton of people asking me to send out advice on what to wear during pregnancy. For all of you that are either past this stage of your life or aren't here yet, maybe you've got a friend these tips could help!
Mix & Match Maternity Clothes With Your Regular Wardrobe
Don't feel that because you're pregnant means you can only wear maternity clothes, you just have to get creative. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and have a firm belief that just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can't maintain your own individual style. Here I've mixed a maternity dress over a pair of regular white jeans. (No, the jeans don't do up lol but I use a hair elastic to hold them up.)
This is one of my favorite kimonos because of the length. Since I'm not exactly feeling overly svelt these days, I like the longer kimono to balance out the proportions of my belly. I paired it with a simple black tank (which isn't maternity, I just bought it a few sizes bigger than usual), a pair of high waisted tights, and cutout ankle booties.
Don't Be Afraid To Layer
Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you still can't layer! Especially during these cold winter months. I am wearing a pair of grey skinny maternity jeans and a non maternity striped t-shirt. I bought the t-shirt slightly larger than I normally would as well as chose one that is longer in length so it doesn't ride up over my bump. Finish the look with a long structured cardigan, a fun scarf and basic booties!
Blazers & Dresses
I feel like most "maternity" dresses out there make me feel like I'm wearing a moo-moo! So here I've paired a regular (non maternity) dress with a blazer and a pair of high waisted tights. Make sure you choose a fitted blazer so it helps to give you more shape and not feel so boxy. The tights are just a cheap pair I picked up and are non maternity as well. I find most maternity tights are quite thick which aren't always flattering, especially under a more fitted dress.
